Travis Addair

Travis Addair, a Senior Software Engineer at Uber Technologies, boasts an impressive track record of transforming cutting-edge technology into real-world solutions. At Uber, he contributes to the Michelangelo machine learning platform, supporting the end-to-end ML workflow for various teams. As a member of the Technical Steering Committee for Horovod within the Linux Foundation, he plays a pivotal role in the development of Uber’s open-source distributed deep learning framework.

Prior to Uber, Travis was engaged in intriguing projects ranging from automated map creation using deep learning at Google to detecting underground nuclear weapons testing at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. His diverse experience also includes developing mobile games and creating maps from images of extraterrestrial worlds.

Travis earned his MS in Computer Science, focusing on AI, from Stanford University and his BS in Computer Science and Mathematics from Northern Arizona University. In his forthcoming talk, he'll share insights into the development and operation of Horovod, showcasing its efficiency and practical use cases.
