David Healey

David Healey, a Senior Data Scientist at Recursion Pharmaceuticals, plays a central role in advancing the use of artificial intelligence for rapid and scalable drug discovery. Recognized as one of the earliest data scientists at Recursion, David has been instrumental in building the company's core machine learning platform and data science team. His expertise lies in the area of leveraging robotics, automation, computer vision, and AI to study the response of cells to drugs across a variety of diseases.

Recursion Pharmaceuticals, renowned for its innovative approach, tests thousands of compounds on hundreds of diseases simultaneously. The company has successfully constructed a considerable preclinical pipeline of treatments focusing on rare genetic diseases, inflammation, and infectious disease. Their clinical trials for drug candidates targeting two rare genetic diseases are already underway.

Before joining Recursion in 2016, David completed his Ph.D. in Biology at MIT’s Center for the Physics of Living Systems. At RAAIS 2019, he is set to introduce Recursion's approach to mapping human cellular biology and explore the complex interactions between diseases and drug treatments, shedding light on the future of AI-enabled drug discovery.
